EOC Week 2 Exercise

Some of the differences between the older Burberry ads and from the ones today are that in the older advertisements they had garment details in the context of it. Today in a typical Burberry ad you just see models in their clothing. Every so often you’ll see a noticeable celebrity as the face of Burberry; as of right now I believe it is still Emma Watson. Burberry has not strayed away from their target market since their target market is actually quite broad. I think it has actually expanded throughout the decades due to the expansion of the line and as society has changed. Typically their target market is from the ages of 18 to 55 and up with an average income of $55,000 a year. Economic changes have an effect on their market but not so much to where they completely loose track. The company has been around since 1856 and targets traditional individuals as well as the new fashion conscious customer, so they’ve been doing a good job on keeping their brand image and target market. They have a look about them that gives the company a respectable reputation, to where they don’t need a provocative ad campaign to bring in consumers.
